Pobes

Pobes lies close to exit number 6 (Pobes-Nanclares) of the AP-68 motorway and is just 10 km from the N-1 (Madrid–Irun). Therefore, the village enjoys excellent connections with all areas of the Iberian Peninsula.

Despite its small size, due to its status as capital of the Ribera Alta region of Alava (Erriberagoitia in the Basque language), it provides a number of additional services:

Municipal swimming-pools including a bar-restaurant in summer, 300 m from the guesthouse, heated indoor pools just 3 km away, a sports hall and rockodrome, medical centre, bank with cash machine, petrol station, bars and restaurants, etc.

The village lies at an interesting bioclimatic crossroads. Within a radius of about 25 km, the landscape changes abruptly from the misty oak woods of the Cantabria at Urkabustaiz (LIC/ZEPA Oak Woods of Urkabustaiz), to the rocky escarpments of the Toloño mountains (LIC/ZEPA Southern Mountains of Alava), that preside over the vineyards of the sun-drenched Rioja Alavesa. We are very near all these places.

Besides the routes and hides, you can do Tai-Chi or Chi-Kung in completely natural surroundings with a highly-experienced, qualified teacher.
